About the course

Contrary to major consensus drawing and painting are not at all difficult, and when explained correctly, are considerably easier than other things we take for granted such as driving a car or operating a computer. The teaching on the course is straightforward and precise and based strictly on logic, one is shown by constant demonstration and close personal supervision the simplicity of painting.

After two preliminary lectures the week will be spent visiting selected historical sights and landscapes, lunch is either in a local restaurant or a picnic affair, depending on our location. The afternoons are dedicated to on site painting, instruction and advice are given in composition, technique and tone to enable you to capture quickly the essentials of the landscape being studied. It is calculated that each student will take home at least two finished canvases together with numerous sketches.

The course is designed for beginners as well as more experienced painters.

There is a maximum of ten places on each course.

The course is conducted in English and French.
